Burke Basic School Safety Policy
In accordance with ARS 15-153, Burke Basic School governing board has adopted the following policy.
The Executive Director, Principal or their designee must report to local law enforcement any suspected crime against a person or property that:
- is a “serious offence” ARS 13-706 or involves a “deadly weapon” or “dangerous instrument” or that could pose a “threat of death or serious injury”
- any conduct that poses a “threat of death or serious physical injury” to employees, students or others on school property.
Burke Basic School will report any such incident to the parent or guardian of each student who is involved in a suspected crime or any conduct that is described above, subject to the requirements of federal law.
Burke Basic Schools governing board shall prescribe and enforce policies and procedures to maintain a record on any person who disciplined pursuant to this policy and on request shall make that record available to any school, school district governing board or charter school governing body that is considering hiring that person.
