Honor Roll Notice:
New policy beginning 2nd Quarter
Discipline & Math Facts
Beginning next quarter, if your student receives a failing grade on their math facts, they will NOT be eligible for Honor Roll. Administration is really pushing for every student to master their math facts. In addition to this, any student who has received a pink discipline notice is also not eligible for Honor Roll. Burke feels that good character & citizenship goes along with good academics, and students should embody these qualities as well to qualify for the Honor Roll. This policy also affects the student’s ability to be eligible for a year-end medallion. If a student is disqualified from the Honor Roll for 2nd, 3rd or 4th quarter, they are also disqualified from obtaining an end of the year medallion. This policy will not go into effect for the report cards going home on October 19th. We are alerting everyone now so your student is aware of the new rules and can adjust their math academics & behavior accordingly before it affects their honor roll status. For students who are disqualified for the honor roll, but still have an “A” or a “B” for their overall average, we will award the student with an academic achievement certificate.
